The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Catholic
community in the UAE celebrated Christmas on 14 December 2023 at the St.
Joseph's Cathedral, Abu Dhabi with an evening of prayers, carols and entertainment.
The event was attended by the Sri Lankan community living in UAE and the
Embassy staff.
Addressing the gathering Ambassador, Udaya Indrarathna highlighted the
importance of Christmas and expressed his appreciation for the sense of unity and
friendship that transcends borders during the Christmas season. He also
emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and building connections with the
local community to express gratitude for the continuous support and friendship
received from the host country.

Reverend Father Nayagam Roy Clarence Chaplain, the Apostolic Vicariate of
Southern Arabia, UAE, Yemen and Oman conducted the religious observances
bestowing blessings upon the participants and all Sri Lankans for a happy Christmas
and a prosperous year ahead.
Embracing the spirit of Christmas, the Embassy staff joined the community choirs in
signing Christmas carols that resonated with the festive atmosphere.
